STAR CHILDREN
Here's a little hub for the star children re-designs that I have finished so far! Click on each image to go to the characters page and learn more about them and see their images in full resolution. I'm putting them here so I can link to them with ease when I upload new re-designs. ⭐"Star children" are an alien species I made around 2015, it was an exploration of character design based off of stars in the real world. I played around with over 30 character designs, piecing lore and writing together for each one I made. Then I put them all on the back burner for a couple of years due to it being such a hefty project, but now I am picking it back up cause I really missed them..I hope you enjoy my goofy little aliens!!
Microbia is the first novaite I designed. A novaite is a sub-category for star children. Novaites are fused with much more star energy, they become giants in the process and can even size-shift, becoming even bigger at will. But Microbia is also a fragmental, which is a soul bonded with scraps of other souls, resulting in changed physical features and memories the original souls didn't have. Microbia is lore heavy lol... Character 9 redesigned out of ~26!
Phalu and Neha were made as an answer to the question of if there can be multiple star children of the same star. The answer is yes! It was really fun to come up with their designs, alongside any differences or similarities, visually and power-wise! I don't remember when I made them, but Phalu was made first and existed on his own for quite a bit. Character 7 & 8 redesigned out of ~26!Below is the first design take on Phalu. I remember inverting some colours and applying neon colours to the design to get to his current colour palette!
Sun and Sulafat were some of the very first star children I made, which makes them two of the most developed ones. I don't like picking favorites but they are very much up there!! I've definitely given Sulafat extra attention, especially since they were the first one to have finished artifacts (all of them are supposed to have some) Character 5 & 6 redesigned out of ~26!Below is the first drawing of Sun, who started out as a simple colour test.
Naos and Otwobe are two star children who were made separately but got paired together almost instantly. At the time I was playing around with sizes and chose two stars, one small and one large.. Then I made them best friends because their demeanor and appearances ended up being so clashing and cute, it was just meant to be! Character 3 & 4 redesigned out of ~26!Below is an old drawing of them.
I don't remember when and why I made Vega and Betelgeuse, but they ended up being two of my most cherished characters. I made them out to be best friends immediately. They both have a lot on their plate and both deal with a lot of external problems. But around each others they can be as goofy as they want without worrying about what others think.
